Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary

The Kadalundi bird sanctuary can be found in the Kozhikode district of Kerala. It is spread out over multiple islands in a picture-perfect setting surrounded by hillocks at the point where the Kadalundi River flows into the Arabian Sea.

This utopia was designed with ornithologists in mind when it was built. A variety of species can be observed, including seagulls, terns, sandpipers, sand plovers, red and greenshanks, turnstones, and more; the months of November to April offer the finest opportunities to do so.

Photographers interested in birds and other wildlife come here to capture even the most fleeting of the birds' movements on film.

• The refuge close to Kozhikode is a popular destination due to the clear waters of the Kadalundi River.

Seven more stars have been added to the location because of the Kadalundi River, which has its source in the Western Ghats and flows through Silent Valley, Kozhikode, and Malappuram. In addition, the river that travels inland eventually empties into the Arabian Sea at a location known as Kadalundi Nagaram.

The Kadalundi River is known for its placid waters, home to a wide variety of fish, crabs, and mussels. This area is home to a diverse collection of reptiles, including several kinds of crocodiles, turtles, and snakes.

• Near the sanctuary, some birds are native to the area and are migrating species.

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city by relaxing in this spot and enjoying the lively antics of the playful birds. Heron, cormorant, tern, sandpiper, and gull species are among those that fall under this category. Some of the most popular things to see and do in this region include things like Malabar Hornbills, Kingfishers, Darters, Woodpeckers, Brahminy Kites, Whimbrels, and many more.

If you want to take some great images for Facebook, don't forget to carry your camera with you inside the restaurant.

• If going to visit things is not your thing, then you should participate in the adventure instead:

In addition to watching birds during your trip, you might consider adding some excitement to it by going on a hike within the reserve. Forest Department also provides boat tours so visitors can take in the stunning natural scenery of the islands.
