Through its collections, the Musee Masséna, the Promenade des Anglais' architectural crown jewel, evokes the art and history of the Riviera from the time of Nice's connection to France until the conclusion of the Belle Epoque.

THINGS TO DO AT MUSEE MASSENA

Understand how all the objects on display highlight and redirect toward a particular period in French history:

The intriguing photo and art collection illustrating Nice's beginnings can be found on the first level. All the pieces invoke this theme by using scenography that blends graphic arts, furniture, and items from this period and, more specifically, history.

Look at times of national heritage on the second floor:

The second level is dedicated to Nice's military history from the 19th century until just before World War II, featuring artifacts and uniforms.

Personal items from Napoleon and Josephine, such as a dress and tiara she once wore, some of their correspondence, and even Napoleon's death mask, are on exhibit.

Uncover marvels related to the extravaganza of social life from times gone by:

The collection features incredible images, paintings, posters, floats, and antiques from the Nice Carnival. All that's left of its splendor, including a massive mural, a recreated model, menus and programs, interesting artifacts, and rare photos both inside and out, feed the imagination of Nice in the Golden Age.

Appreciate and get inspired by the treasure trove of artistic influences housed here in their glory:

The visitor will have the opportunity to interact with nineteenth-century landscape painters, particularly Joseph Fricero, Antoine Trachel, and Alexis Mossa.

Get enthralled by the beauty of the art as well as the place that houses it:

It should be emphasized that the Villa's ground floor is a piece of art due to the opulent interior design created by architects Hans-Georg Tersling and Aaron Messiah, as well as the 1st Empire-era furnishings and artwork that adorn the salons. '
