Inside the cloister are numerous tombs of important Neapolitan personalities, including that of Joan of Anjou, mother of Charles of Anjou.
The Museum of Santa Chiara is housed within the monastic complex and preserves numerous works of art, including 14th-century frescoes, medieval ceramics, carpets, and tapestries.
