For Centuries old world-class rock art has been the epitome of Saudi Arabian attraction. These deserts also boast a stunning environment full of impressive natural formations. AlGharameel is one such attraction.

The dark-colored, straight pillars known as 'Gharameel' were formerly a massive mountain that stood in Hail, North Saudi Arabia, south of Al-Ula.

You experience a sense of being in another world. They are tall, dark rocks that resemble pillars or palm branches. They look like ruins, like a beautiful yet mysterious landscape.

Geologists define 'Gharameel' as a large mountain broken up into slender pillars containing iron oxides. The pillars are resistant to changes in the atmosphere thanks to their iron oxides. However, because the lower levels of some of these pillars are flimsy, they have been crumbling for thousands of years.

This location is ideal for stargazing because it is far from city lights and has some of the most desirable dark skies in the world. The days around each new moon are the finest times to go stargazing. Take in the desert scenery while taking in the moonlit AlUla experience.
