Dar El Bacha Museum, located in the old medina of Marrakech, is a captivating cultural institution that offers a glimpse into the rich history and heritage of Morocco. Housed in a beautifully restored palace, the museum showcases a diverse collection of art, artifacts, and historical objects.

The Dar El Bacha - Musée des Confluences, often known as the 'Museum of Confluences,' is a museum that was transformed into a palace by the Fondation nationale des musées (FNM) of Morocco. Mohammed VI of Morocco opened it on July 9, 2017.

The Dal El Bacha, which means “house of Pasha,” was built in 1910. It was the residence of Thami El Glaoui, who was a prominent political figure. He built this lavish residence to impress his residents. Some of the notable guests include Colette, Charlie Chaplin, Josephine Baker, Maurice Ravel, and Winston Churchill.

Dar el Bacha, with its fountains and orange trees in the center courtyard, traditional seating spaces, and hammam, is a stunning example of Moroccan architecture and riad architecture. The palace exhibits characteristics of European design in addition to traditional Moroccan elements, and it was one of the first palaces in Marrakesh to have grandiose outside decorating.

Today's museum space is built around a rectangular courtyard that is symmetrically split into four halves by a sizable riad garden. This courtyard has a salon or hall on each side, which is preceded by a portico with elaborate columns. The hammam, the douiria, a service area, and the harem made up the rest of the palace. Many of the original design elements, such as the carved stucco artwork, the zellij mosaic tilework on the floors and walls, and the carved and painted cedar wood doors and ceilings, have been preserved and repaired.
