The museum describes the demise of Emperor Haile Selassie and the miseries of life under Mengistu's Derg rule over a few rooms. It adheres to the demands of commemoration, emotional participation, and identification with the objects on display.

THINGS TO DO AT RED TERROR MARTYRS MEMORIAL MUSEUM:

• Reaffirm your faith in justice as you witness the atrocities inflicted in the name of political gains:

A chilling reminder of the horror committed during the Red Terror massacres under the Derg Regime may be found at the Red Terror Martyrs Memorial Museum. A bronze figure is placed at the entrance featuring three weeping girls who stand in for the victims of the 'Red Terror' era of oppression (1977-1978). A picture of the victim and their belongings with them when they died are displayed with some of the deceased's skulls and other bones.

• Feel the mutual need for harmonious coexistence:

This museum intends to draw attention to the museum's dual purpose as an organization that promotes education and retells the nation's liberation story. This has fostered a sense of national identity among Ethiopia's diverse population.

• Understand the significance of power and politics here:

The museum, founded in 2010 to honor the 500,000 victims of the violent Marxist political campaign in the late 1970s, informs visitors about the activities before and during the massacre.

Through items from mass graves, torture devices, and a sobering collection of images of the dead, you may learn about the history of the government's assault on its pe
