The waiting hasn’t been easy. We understand! All of us are tired of hearing news about travel restrictions, lockdowns, and flight cancellations, over and over again. It can be difficult to imagine what our future travel plans will look like, at this point in time. There hasn’t been a year before where understanding the future of travel has been more important. ‘Revenge travel’ is the new term coined for people looking to move out, in a bid to escape the lockdown boredom.  This is a quick reminder to let you know that many international destinations have opened up now, and are welcoming travelers. Let us geck back to our travel days.  

Here’s a list of 7 destinations where you can plan your summer vacation to. 

 

1) Madeira Island, Portugal

The Madeira Islands are an archipelago of small islands located in the Atlantic Ocean about 350 miles from Morocco. The two main inhabited islands are Madeira and Porto Santo. The visitors get to explore amazing natural pools made out of lava rocks, beautiful cliffs, and small towns. The World Travel Awards named The Madeira Islands as the best island destination in the world for the sixth time in a row.

 Madeira has been the safest destination in Europe, since the beginning of the outbreak. The archipelago looked into the health protocols very seriously to protect its inhabitants and has remained in the green zone.

  • Make sure you are fully vaccinated before traveling to the Madeira Islands.
  • Unvaccinated travelers who are at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19 should avoid nonessential travel to the Madeira Islands. If you must travel and have concerns, talk to your doctor.
  • Travelers should follow recommendations or requirements in the Madeira Islands, including wearing a mask and staying 6 feet apart from others.
  • Testing id required only for unvaccinated travelers.
  •  No curfew
  •  Hotels, shops, and restaurants are open.

2) Malta

With over 300 sunny days in a year, Malta welcomes its visitors with a Mediterranean climate. It has one of the top-ranked healthcare systems and some of the world’s best diving locations. Malta is not only for beaches, but the way of life and history is definitely worth exploring. 

Safety Guidelines & Travel Information: 

Malta has reached herd immunity with over 80% of vaccinated adults, being one of the safest summer destinations in Europe.

  • No quarantine or other restrictions apply for fully vaccinated tourists or those presenting a PCR COVID-19 test taken not earlier than 72 hours before arrival. 
  • Masks are not mandatory on beaches and pools, while restaurants and culture clubs can host up to six people per table.

3) The Azores, Portugal

The Azores is blessed with captivating landscapes, fishing villages, flowery ways, and green pastures. Talking about safety, the health care system here is top-notch. Moreover,  Azores is one of the safest, most surprising, and comfortable destinations this summer. 5) Assos – Kefalonia Island, Greece

  • Testing is not required for vaccinated travelers. Non-vaccinated people traveling to Greece from foreign countries will be required to show a negative molecular test result (PCR) for COVID-19, performed up to 72 hours before their arrival. This includes arrivals by land and by air. The certificate should be written in English and include the name and passport number or national identification number of the traveler.
  • No quarantine is required (In the event of a positive result, travelers will be contacted and placed on a 14-days quarantine, with expenses covered by the Greek state).
  •  Hotels, shops, and restaurants are open.

6) Canary Islands, Spain

7) Copenhagen, Denmark

Safety Guidelines & Travel Information: 
  • Denmark decided, in February 2021, to set up vaccine passports allowing citizens vaccinated against Covid-19 to resume normal life, in complete safety. 
  • This Covid-19 Vaccine passport is not only for Danish citizens. Denmark undertakes to recognize vaccine passports issued at the international and European levels. 
  • Once vaccinated in your country of origin and in possession of your proof of vaccination, you can enjoy cafes, restaurants, concerts, without additional tests.
  • Of course, you can always, if you have not been vaccinated yet, stay in Denmark with a recent Covid-19 test (72 hours before your departure).
